With the aim of celebrating its present look at this particular moment in time, we recently commissioned an original watercolor painting that depicts the spirit of Maxson House.
From the play of light and shadow upon the clapboard façade to the texture of the bricks, we're pleased that the meticulous attention to detail in the painting captured the true essence and character of our cherished dwelling beneath the vibrant skies of Mystic.

Proudly standing for over 170 years, Maxson House still exudes the same stately ambiance today as it did in 1854. And, during your stay, you'll discover a set of historically inspired postcards featuring a reproduction of the watercolor itself, for you to keep with our compliments as a souvenir or to post in the mail.
